5 Star Master Program

Overview

AICD is world renown...
by those who value the best.

Prerequisite: Ice Carver Program...
This program is included in the total tuition for AICD's 5 Star Master Program

The 5 Star Master Program requires successful completion of the Ice Carver Program before advancing into the more challenging portions of the program.

In certain circumstances, AICD may waive the Ice Carver Program requirement based upon the carver's experience and/or other factors. If the Ice Carver Program is waived, the total hours of the 5 Star Master Program will be reduced by 20 hours. In addition, tuition for the 5 Star Master Program will be reduced by $2,495.

Please note: due to the level of motivation, physical stamina, and other demands needed to complete the entire 5 Star Master Program in just two weeks, carvers must carefully consider whether taking separate programs over an extended period of time would be more suitable to their individual circumstances. While separate visits would result in considerable travel time and expenses, ensuring the optimum safety and well being of our carvers and instructors is of prime importance. Please share any concerns with Paul Germain before applying for the 5 Star Master Program. Paul will do his best to accomodate any special needs.

The 5 Star Master Ice Carver Program (including the Ice Carver Program) provides 16 Days (140 hours) of Private Instruction during the month of July. Due to the intensity and comprehensive nature of the program, carvers should make travel plans which include a day of rest and recuperation between each star level. (Some homework can be completed during these off days). Thus, carvers should arrange for 21 days total. Adding two days of travel time, carver should plan to be away from home at least 23 days.

Note: To maximize your time during instructional hours, you will also be provided approximately 70 additional hours of drawing/design oriented work that is to be completed at your hotel.

Total Continuing Education Hours (CEH) - 190 hours

Tuition

Tuition, Class Schedules, Registration Information

AICD provides one-to-one personalized instruction that is tailored for each student's experience and future objectives. Private instruction ensures that student carvers of any level receive far more actual training and individual guidance than is possible within group ice carving classes. It also provides a much safer and more productive learning environment for developing the advanced art skills needed for highly realistic and creative multi-block construction.

Due to the highly concentrated and intensive nature of each Master’s level, this program of instruction is specifically designed to be taught in five separate courses (three consecutive days of private instruction for each course) throughout the year. This will enable students to practice what they have learned in preparation for the next level. However, we realize that there may be circumstances (such as a student's previous ice carving experience) which could facilitate achieving levels in a shorter period of time. In such circumstances, we will be happy to adapt instruction in order to accommodate your particular needs.

"What I liked best about AICD was its hands on and one-to-one training. Paul has the patience to answer questions about techniques!

The school is constantly coming up with new and innovative ways of teaching because of Paul's background as both a teacher and an artist. I was very satisfied with the classes, the instructor, the hospitality, and the training!"

Victor Aguilar, CPIC, Owner/Sculptor, Diamond Ice, Indio, California

Each instructional level in the Master's Program is available year-round.

Ice carving instruction includes hands-on experience with many of the most advanced and celebrated techniques used by professional ice sculptors today. This power-packed program of ice carving instruction is tailored to the specific needs and skills of the individual carver - whether new to the art, an experienced carver, or a career-oriented instructor. Carvers will design and safely create state-of-the-art ice sculptures as they advance through each level.

AICD's Lifetime Certification Guarantee:

Due to AICD's proven "hands on" approach to comprehensive instruction and its stature as a private school, you can earn each level of AICD Certification for life with no certification fees, no yearly fees, and no membership requirements.

To maintain the integrity of AICD's educational programs, activities such as attendance at conventions, competitions, and related activities cannot be counted for receiving AICD Certification. A carver's unique experiences may, however, qualify as the prerequisite for enrolling in AICD's advanced instructional programs.

Note:
Tuition and travel expenses are fully tax deductible for most companies and students.

Due to AICD's stature as a school and its proven "hands on" approach to comprehensive instruction, there are no certification fees, no yearly fees, no membership requirements, and no written tests required to earn and maintain the level(s) of AICD certification you have achieved.

Your remarkable achievements say it best!

All tools, ice, artwork, resources, and supplies used for instructional purposes are considered the property of AICD and are to remain at the AICD facility. AICD reserves the sole right to discard, donate, or raise funds for any ice sculpture completed through its courses of instruction.

Our private, one-on-one instruction is available for highly motivated ice carvers who want to advance at a rate that is optimum for their learning style, skill, and level of experience. Private instruction can be adapted to suit the individual carver's schedule.

AICD's training/certification programs are a valuable way to earn points
for NICA's and ACF's certification programs, which are independent of AICD.

Note:
The art of ice carving involves the use of tools and equipment that are inherently dangerous. To meet the safety-related needs of professional ice sculpture companies, ice carving schools, hotels, country clubs, and caterers, a high priority is given to the development of safe carving, delivery, and set-up practices. This program requires that the carver be in excellent health, and must be physically able to work with heavy materials and equipment for prolonged periods of time in a cold environment.

The ice carving industry is growing at a phenomenal rate in the U.S and around the world. AICD is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive ice sculpture training possible for ice sculpture companies, hotels, caterers, country clubs, and culinary schools seeking to employ highly qualified, professionally certificated chefs, ice carvers, and sales associates.

AICD is fully CCR approved and registered to provide training to all
branches of the Federal Government, including the Department of Defense
